How to Activate Dual SIM on an Apple Watch GPS + Cellular

If you’re using an Apple Watch GPS + Cellular model and want to add a second number (dual SIM) or choose which number to use, here’s an easy guide based on Apple’s official instructions.

Initial Requirements

If you’re using an Apple Watch GPS + Cellular, you can add two different numbers and choose which one to use. The process is quite simple: open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to the Cellular menu, then select Set Up Cellular or Add a New Plan to add a new number. After following the instructions from your carrier, the additional number will appear in the list.

How to Add or Select a SIM on Apple Watch

1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone.

2. Tap the My Watch tab → select Cellular.

3. Tap Set Up Cellular or Add a New Plan.

4. Follow your carrier’s instructions for activation.

If more than one SIM is available, you can choose which one is active through Settings > Cellular on the Apple Watch or by returning to the Watch app on your iPhone to select the preferred plan.

Things You Should Know

Although you can add more than one SIM to your Apple Watch, only one can be active at a time. When your iPhone is nearby, the watch will automatically use the iPhone’s connection. However, if the iPhone is out of range, the Apple Watch will use its own cellular network.
