How to Use International eSIM
Unlike regular SIM cards, an eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that has no physical form. Because of this, many people consider eSIMs to be more efficient than traditional SIM cards.
Aside from its form, the main difference between an eSIM and a SIM card is the installation and activation process. While a SIM card needs to be physically inserted into your phone, an eSIM can be activated simply by scanning a barcode.
If you're not familiar with how to do it, here are the steps you can follow to install and activate your international eSIM:
How to Install and Activate an International eSIM
You can install and activate an eSIM on both iPhones and Samsung Android devices, as long as your phone supports the eSIM feature. Before starting the installation and activation process, it’s best to check whether your phone supports eSIM.
You can find out how to check it here.
After purchasing an eSIM, the eSIM barcode is usually sent via email. You can then continue the process by following the steps below:

Easy, right?
Before you proceed with installation and activation, here are some important things to know about using your eSIM:
- The barcode can be scanned while you're still in Indonesia — except for Asia eSIMs that include Indonesia in their coverage. If you scan an Asia eSIM in Indonesia, its validity period will start immediately.
- Important: Please scan the QR code only through your phone’s settings. Do not use your camera app or any other apps to scan the eSIM barcode.
- If you encounter any issues during installation, please contact our team immediately via the marketplace where you made the purchase.
- The eSIM barcode is valid for 90 days from the date of creation.
