Changi Airport in Singapore is renowned as one of the best airports in the world thanks to its world-class facilities and highly efficient inter-terminal connectivity system. With its vast area and multiple spread-out terminals, Changi provides various internal transportation options to ensure quick and comfortable transfers between terminals for travelers.
From the flagship Skytrain service to comfortable pedestrian walkways, here are the different inter-terminal transportation options you can use while at Changi Airport.
Transportation To/From Jewel
Jewel, one of Changi Airportās main attractions, is located in the public area between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 and is directly connected to Terminal 1. If you are transiting through Changi and wish to visit Jewel, you will need to clear immigration to enter Singaporeās public area first.
Below are the access options to Jewel from each terminal at Changi Airport:
From Terminal 1 (T1)
- Direct access to Jewel
- The North entrance of Jewel connects directly to the Arrival Hall of T1 on Level 1
- This makes T1 the terminal with the easiest access to Jewel, without needing a connecting bridge
From Terminal 2 (T2)
- Walking distance: 5ā10 minutes
- Access to Jewel via a connecting bridge on Level 3, near the MRT station
- This bridge connects directly to the central area of Jewel
From Terminal 3 (T3)
- Walking distance: 5ā10 minutes
- Access to Jewel also via a connecting bridge, from the Departure Hall of Terminal 3, near the Crowne Plaza hotel
- The walkway is convenient and well signposted
Transportation Between Terminals 1, 2, and 3
Terminals 1, 2, and 3 at Changi Airport are interconnected through various fast, comfortable, and user-friendly transportation modes. Below are some transportation options you can use for inter-terminal transfers at Changi Airport.
Skytrain
The Skytrain is a free automated train service connecting Terminals 1, 2, and 3 in both the public and transit areas. Operating daily from 5:00 AM to 2:30 AM, the Skytrain enables quick transfers between terminals with a travel time of around 4 minutes per trip.
Walking
One of the most traditional ways to move between terminals at Changi Airport is by walking via connecting bridges and automated travelators spread throughout the airport area. With these facilities, travelers can easily explore Terminals 1, 2, and 3 without needing additional transportation, accompanied by interesting views along the way.
For Passengers in the Transit Area
Transfers between terminals, especially between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, can be easily done via inter-terminal travelators available throughout the Departure Transit areas.
These pathways are designed to speed up passenger mobility without leaving the immigration area.
For Visitors in the Public Area
- Between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3: Use the link bridge located on the Mezzanine Level, which is the intermediate floor between the two terminals.
- Between Terminals 1, 2, and 3: Use the link bridge located on Level 3 of Jewel, which efficiently and conveniently connects all these terminals.
Transportation To/From Terminal 4
Terminal 4, located farthest from the other terminals, is not directly connected to the Skytrain. However, there are free shuttle bus services operating 24 hours to connect Terminal 4 with the other terminals as follows:
- Public Shuttle Bus Services: Shuttle buses connect Terminal 4 with Terminals 1 and 2. The journey takes around 10 minutes.
- Transit Shuttle Bus Services: Special shuttle buses for transit passengers connect Terminal 4 with Terminals 1 and 3. The journey takes between 10 to 18 minutes.
Additionally, itās important to note that the Public Shuttle Bus Services are intended for all visitors or passengers in the airportās public area, including those who have cleared immigration or arrived from outside the airport.
Meanwhile, the Transit Shuttle Bus Services are specifically provided for transit passengers who remain within the airside (inside the immigration area) and have not exited to the public area.
