New Policy! Indonesian Passport Holders Now Enjoy Visa-Free Entry to China for 10 Days

Recently, China has introduced a number of new policies aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with Southeast Asian countries. One of the latest policies announced is the granting of a 10-day (240-hour) visa-free transit for select nationalities, including Indonesia.

China’s New Visa Policy: 10-Day Visa-Free Entry

Starting from June 12, 2025, China has implemented a visa-free transit policy allowing eligible nationals, including Indonesian citizens, to enter and stay in China for up to 10 days (240 hours) without a visa.

This policy applies to travelers transiting through one of the 60 designated international airports located in 24 provinces across China, including major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

The initiative is part of China’s efforts to strengthen ties with Southeast Asian nations, including Indonesia, and to boost its tourism and economic sectors.

With this new policy, Indonesian travelers can explore various attractions in China for up to 10 days without needing to apply for a visa in advance.

  2. Valid Passport
Passports must be valid for at least 6 months from the planned date of entry into China. There must also be at least two blank pages available for visa stamps. The passport must be in good condition and free from damage to avoid issues during immigration.

  3. Confirmed Onward Flight Ticket
Travelers must hold a confirmed onward flight ticket to a third country after leaving China. The ticket must show the departure date and seat assignment. The final destination must be outside of China.

  4. Designated Entry Ports
Travelers must enter through one of the 60 designated locations in the 24 participating regions, as previously listed. These locations include airports, seaports, and train stations in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
